Responsibilities
- Patient Assistance: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately and timely.
- Hygiene & Comfort: Ensure patients remain clean, dry, and comfortable at all times, providing skin care to prevent breakdown.
- Feeding & Hydration: Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring patients stay hydrated and well-nourished.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team regarding patient conditions and changes in status.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and care logs as required by facility policy.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to patient needs and assist in emergency situations as directed by nursing staff.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and valid Illinois CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) license.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to read and write English fluently.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift patients (up to 50 lbs), and perform physical activities as needed.
- Attitude: Compassionate, patient-oriented, and dedicated to maintaining a positive, professional demeanor.
