Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Provide direct assistance with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature accurately.
- Mobility Support: Assist patients with ambulation and transferring them safely from beds to wheelchairs or stretchers.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and care logs in accordance with facility policies.
- Environment: Ensure patient rooms and common areas are clean, sanitized, and safe.
- Communication: Communicate changes in patient condition to RNs and LPNs immediately.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to call lights and emergency situations following established protocols.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Texas State Board of Nursing CNA Certification required.
- CPR: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be valid and up-to-date.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical: Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. Physical stamina required for extended shifts.
- Attitude: Demonstrated compassion, patience, and a patient-centered approach to care.
