Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during patient examinations and procedures with chairside support.
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials according to established protocols.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist.
- Manage infection control procedures, including sterilization of instruments and maintaining a clean clinical environment.
- Guide patients through dental procedures and provide post-operative instructions.
- Order and manage dental supplies and inventory.
- Process patient insurance claims and handle front desk administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent on-the-job training.
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Dental Assistant Registered (DAR) preferred.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification required.
- Valid state license to practice dental assisting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Proficiency with dental software and digital imaging systems is a plus.
