Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, including sterilizing instruments and setting up treatment rooms
- Assist dentists during clinical procedures, including passing instruments and managing suction
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision and patient comfort
- Manage patient records and digital charting using Dentrix/Eaglesoft software
- Implement infection control protocols and maintain OSHA compliance standards
- Provide post-operative instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene
- Order inventory and manage dental supplies efficiently
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical dental assisting experience
- Current CPR/BLS certification and Louisiana radiography license
- Proficiency in digital imaging and practice management software
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient comfort
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
