Responsibilities
- Chairside assistance during dental procedures including restorative, endodontic, and surgical treatments
- Implementing sterilization protocols and maintaining OSHA-compliant infection control
- Managing digital radiography and intraoral imaging systems
- Preparing treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for optimal efficiency
- Assisting in patient education and post-operative care instructions
- Coordinating treatment plans and scheduling with precision
- Inventory management of dental supplies and restorative materials
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification or equivalent education (CODA accredited preferred)
- Minimum 2 years chairside experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography and practice management software
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- CPR/BLS certification from recognized provider
- Exceptional communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to maintain composure in fast-paced clinical environments
- Valid Hawaii state dental assistant registration
