Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorations, extractions, and orthodontic work
- Perform chairside duties including instrument transfer, suction management, and patient monitoring
- Take and develop accurate dental radiographs (X-rays) following ALARA protocols
- Manage sterilization and infection control procedures for all instruments and equipment
- Prepare treatment rooms, materials, and dental instruments for efficient workflow
- Delieve post-operative instructions and ensure patient comfort throughout appointments
- Maintain accurate digital patient records and manage appointment scheduling
Qualifications
- Current Minnesota Dental Assistant certification or DANB certification required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a general dental practice
- Proficiency in digital radiography (X-ray) and dental imaging software
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and infection control standards
- Excellent chairside assisting skills with experience in restorative and surgical procedures
- Exceptional communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
- CPR certification and willingness to maintain current
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
