Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for dental procedures by taking medical histories and vital signs
- Assist dentists during examinations and treatments using proper infection control protocols
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision and care
- Manage inventory and sterilization of dental instruments and equipment
- Document patient information and treatment notes accurately in digital records
- Provide post-operative instructions and ensure patient comfort throughout appointments
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant treatment area
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification or Radiology license (Louisiana)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a dental practice
- Proficiency in dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix)
- Strong knowledge of infection control and OSHA standards
- Excellent communication skills and ability to put patients at ease
- Detail-oriented with exceptional manual dexterity
- CPR certification and willingness to maintain it
- High school diploma or equivalent required
