Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative and surgical treatments
- Take and develop accurate dental radiographs using digital X-ray technology
- Manage sterilization protocols and infection control procedures (OSHA compliance)
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for all dental procedures
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide oxide monitoring when certified
- Manage patient scheduling and digital charting in Dentrix/Eaglesoft systems
- Provide post-operative instructions and emergency care guidance
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification (DANB or state-recognized)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- CDA or RDA licensure in North Carolina
- CPR/BLS certification (AHA preferred)
- Proficiency with digital radiography and practice management software
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA compliance protocols
- Excellent chairside manner and patient communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
