Responsibilities
- Prepare Treatment Rooms: Ensure all instruments and equipment are sterilized and set up correctly for procedures.
- Assist Dentists: Provide chairside assistance during examinations and treatments, anticipating needs.
- Diagnostic Imaging: Perform and process dental X-rays and intraoral photos accurately.
- Patient Management: Manage patient records, update health histories, and coordinate appointment schedules.
- Education: Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to sterilization protocols and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Dental Assistant certification (CDA/RDA) or state licensure required.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited dental assisting program is preferred.
- Experience: 1-2 years of clinical experience in a general dentistry setting is highly desirable.
- Skills: Proficiency with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) and radiography equipment.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to work well under pressure.
