Responsibilities
- Prepare patients and clinical areas for dental procedures including instrument sterilization and equipment setup
- Assist dentists during examinations and treatments using proper four-handed dentistry techniques
- Take and develop dental radiographs with digital X-ray systems
- Manage infection control protocols and maintain OSHA compliance standards
- Perform dental charting and maintain accurate patient records
- Provide post-operative instructions and patient education on oral hygiene
- Coordinate appointment scheduling and inventory management for dental supplies
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification from accredited program (CODA or DANB preferred)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency with digital radiography and practice management software
- CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Strong knowledge of infection control and OSHA regulations
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to calm anxious patients
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities
- Valid Massachusetts state dental radiography license
