Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist and hygienist during examinations, treatments, and surgeries with precision and care.
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to strict OSHA and CDC safety protocols.
- Take and develop high-quality digital X-rays and intraoral photographs for diagnostic purposes.
- Manage patient records, update charts accurately, and ensure all documentation is up to date.
- Provide chair-side assistance, including applying rubber dams, topical anesthetics, and suctioning.
- Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide post-operative care instructions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception and treatment room environment.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or Dental Assistant (DA) is required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a general dentistry setting.
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, terminology, and infection control standards.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with diverse patient populations.
- Ability to multitask effectively and remain calm under pressure.
- Proficient in dental software and practice management systems (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft).
