Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, surgical, and orthodontic treatments
- Prepare and sterilize instruments/equipment following OSHA protocols
- Take accurate dental radiographs and manage digital imaging systems
- Perform chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques
- Manage patient flow and ensure efficient clinic operations
- Administer patient education on post-procedure care
- Maintain detailed digital patient records and inventory systems
Qualifications
- Current Louisiana Dental Assistant certification or DANB registration
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency with Eaglesoft or similar practice management software
- CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Exceptional communication skills for patient education
- Strong attention to detail and infection control knowledge
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
