Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, surgical, and orthodontic treatments
- Perform infection control protocols and sterilize dental instruments
- Take and develop dental radiographs with digital imaging technology
- Manage patient records using Eaglesoft practice management software
- Prepare treatment rooms and materials for efficient clinical workflow
- Deliver exceptional patient education on oral hygiene and post-procedure care
- Coordinate with front desk staff to optimize patient scheduling and flow
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification (DANB or state-recognized)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography and intraoral cameras
- Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA compliance standards
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to manage anxious patients
- Experience with Eaglesoft or comparable dental software
- CPR/BLS certification (current or obtainable within 30 days)
- New Mexico dental radiography permit
