Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations, treatments, and surgeries using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for patient procedures, ensuring strict sterilization protocols are followed.
- Take and process dental x-rays (radiographs) and intraoral photographs as directed by the dentist.
- Manage patient records, including updating charts, collecting insurance information, and confirming appointments.
- Provide chairside assistance with impression taking and pouring models.
- Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for all patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Certification or graduation from an accredited Dental Assisting program (RADT, DANB, or equivalent).
- CPR and BLS certification is required.
- Current Georgia Dental Assistant license (or eligible to obtain one).
- Experience with dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix) is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, patient-centric demeanor.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks accurately.
- Attention to detail and adherence to infection control guidelines.
