Responsibilities
- Assist the lead dentist and hygienists during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
- Prepare treatment rooms with instruments, materials, and medication as directed.
- Take and develop digital X-rays and intraoral photographs as required.
- Maintain strict sterilization and infection control protocols.
- Update and maintain accurate patient records and dental charts.
- Provide exceptional patient education and comfort during visits.
- Manage inventory of dental supplies and order new equipment when necessary.
Qualifications
- Certificate or diploma from an accredited Dental Assisting program.
- Current Washington DC Dental Assistant License or eligibility to obtain one.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (ACLS preferred).
- Experience with dental software (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or OpenDental).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
