Responsibilities
- Chairside Assisting: Assist the dentist during examinations, treatments, and procedures with precision and efficiency.
- Patient Care: Ensure patient comfort during procedures and provide clear post-operative instructions.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records, including updating medical histories and treatment plans.
- Infection Control: Strictly adhere to OSHA and CDC guidelines for sterilization and sanitation of instruments and operatory areas.
- Diagnostics: Take and develop digital X-rays as directed by the dentist.
- Inventory Management: Monitor supply levels and order dental materials and supplies as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; graduation from an accredited dental assisting program is preferred.
- Licensure: Current Florida State Dental Assistant License.
- Radiography: Current X-ray certification (Florida) required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a dental office setting is preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix) is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, ability to multitask, and a friendly, professional demeanor.
