Responsibilities
- Assist the Dentist: Provide chair-side assistance during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Patient Care: Greet patients, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout their visit.
- Infection Control: Maintain strict sterilization and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment.
- Record Keeping: Accurately document patient records, update medical histories, and process insurance claims.
- Diagnostics: Take and develop digital X-rays, impressions, and bite registrations as directed.
- Oral Health Education: Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock dental supplies and equipment to ensure readiness for procedures.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Dental Assisting program (DHA, CODA, or equivalent).
- Licensure: Current Texas Dental Assistant license and CPR/BLS certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a dental setting preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) and 4-handed dentistry techniques.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to multitask and maintain high standards of accuracy in documentation and patient care.
