Responsibilities
- Review and verify patient insurance information and eligibility.
- Accurately code medical procedures and services using ICD-10 and CPT guidelines.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance carriers (Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid).
- Follow up on outstanding claims and appeal denied claims to maximize reimbursement.
- Reconcile daily bank deposits and maintain accurate financial records.
- Communicate with patients regarding outstanding balances and payment plans.
- Collaborate with the billing team to identify and resolve revenue cycle issues.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or Certificate in Medical Billing, Coding, or Healthcare Administration.
- Certification (CPC, CPC-H, or CRC) is highly preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in medical billing and revenue cycle management.
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance standards.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, such as Epic or Cerner.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and practice management software.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving skills.
