Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for procedures and assist dentists during treatments including restorations, extractions, and orthodontics
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision and safety
- Perform infection control protocols and sterilize instruments per CDC guidelines
- Manage patient scheduling, billing inquiries, and digital chart maintenance using Dentrix/Eaglesoft
- Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care instructions
- Order dental supplies and maintain efficient inventory management
- Assist in lab procedures including pouring models and fabricating temporary crowns
Qualifications
- Current Texas Dental Assistant Radiology Certification (RDA) required
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography and practice management software
- CPR certification and BLS training (current)
- Exceptional communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and OSHA regulations
- Associate's degree or certificate in Dental Assisting preferred
