Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, orthodontic, and surgical treatments
- Perform chairside duties such as instrument transfer, suction management, and patient monitoring
- Manage digital radiography (X-rays) and intraoral imaging systems
- Execute infection control protocols and sterilization procedures following CDC guidelines
- Prepare treatment rooms, materials, and equipment for efficient clinical workflows
- Manage patient education on oral hygiene and post-procedure care
- Maintain accurate digital patient records and treatment documentation
Qualifications
- New York State Dental Assistant certification (or eligible for certification)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital imaging software (e.g., Dexis, Schick)
- CPR certification and current BLS credentials
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to manage patient anxiety
- Strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities in fast-paced environments
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient privacy protocols
- Experience with Eaglesoft practice management software preferred
