Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10 and CPT guidelines.
- Submit clean claims to commercial insurance payers, Medicare, and Medicaid.
- Monitor claim status and proactively follow up on pending or denied claims.
- Review Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements to identify underpayments or overpayments.
- Manage patient billing inquiries and resolve account discrepancies efficiently.
- Utilize EMR and billing software (Epic, AthenaHealth) to maintain up-to-date patient records.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing and revenue cycle management.
- Strong knowledge of medical billing software and electronic claims submission.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and compliance standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule effectively.
- Associate degree in Medical Billing, Coding, or Healthcare Administration preferred.
