Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize emergency cases using standardized triage protocols
- Accurately document patient information, symptoms, and treatment plans in electronic health records
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
- Provide clear medical guidance to patients and families via phone, telehealth, and in-person consultations
- Monitor patient vital signs and escalate critical cases immediately to appropriate providers
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital emergency procedures
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and emergency response drills
Qualifications
- Active Alaska RN license with a minimum of 2 years emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required (PALS preferred)
- Demonstrated proficiency in EHR systems (EPIC experience strongly preferred)
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities in high-pressure environments
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations and healthcare teams
- Ability to work independently while maintaining collaborative team dynamics
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on department needs
