Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments via phone and in-person to determine urgency of care needs
- Accurately document patient information using electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Collaborate with physicians to develop appropriate care plans and disposition strategies
- Provide clear medical guidance to patients regarding symptoms and next steps
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and emergency department protocols
- Coordinate patient transfers between facilities when necessary
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in New York State
- Minimum 2 years triage or emergency department experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Strong communication abilities with diverse populations
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Flexibility to cover varied shifts including evenings/weekends
