Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and compound preparations under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control and ordering of pharmaceutical supplies
- Process insurance claims and maintain patient medication records
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and side effects
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, DEA, and Hawaii Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Utilize pharmacy software for dispensing and record-keeping
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient care
Qualifications
- Active Hawaii Pharmacy Technician license or eligibility
- Prior retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required
- Strong knowledge of prescription medications and pharmaceutical calculations
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
