Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments using SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation) protocols
- Triage incoming calls and walk-in patients based on urgency and acuity levels
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and emergency department staff for coordinated care
- Document patient interactions accurately in Epic EHR systems
- Provide clear, empathetic guidance to patients and families during stressful situations
- Monitor patient vital signs and symptoms to determine immediate intervention needs
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, JCAHO, and state nursing board regulations
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Arizona (AZBN)
- Minimum 2 years emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; TNCC preferred
- Proficient in triage protocols and EHR documentation systems
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to remain calm under pressure during high-volume situations
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
