Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Process and label specimens according to strict laboratory protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records and electronic documentation systems
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with medical professionals to optimize patient care workflows
- Train and mentor junior phlebotomy staff on best practices
- Conduct quality control procedures for equipment and supplies
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 3 years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Proven expertise in pediatric, geriatric, and special-population blood draws
- BLS/CPR certification from an accredited provider
- Strong knowledge of anatomical landmarks and venipuncture techniques
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with diverse patient populations
- Experience with LIS/HIS systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
