Responsibilities
- Assess and prioritize patients in emergency settings using established triage protocols
- Collaborate with physicians to develop and implement patient care plans
- Provide expert medical advice via phone and telehealth triage systems
- Document patient encounters accurately in EMR systems
- Train and mentor junior nursing staff in triage procedures
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Respond effectively to mass casualty incidents
Qualifications
- Current RN license in Texas (or compact state)
- Minimum 3 years emergency/trauma nursing experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- BSN degree or higher preferred
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in Epic EMR systems
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) certification highly valued
- Strong communication and de-escalation abilities
