Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Medication Monitoring: Remind patients to take prescribed medications and report any side effects or missed doses to the supervising nurse.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage in meaningful conversation to reduce feelings of isolation for patients.
- Household Assistance: Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, meal preparation, and cleaning to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment.
- Vital Signs: Measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature) as directed by the care plan.
- Transportation: Accompany patients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, or community outings.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided in electronic health records.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current, unencumbered Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required.
- Experience: Previous experience in home health or long-term care preferred but not required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and families.
- Reliability: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with proof of insurance.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Compassion: Genuine passion for helping others and a caring attitude toward the elderly and disabled.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, stand, and bend for extended periods and assist patients with mobility.
