Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments in high-volume emergency department setting
- Utilize triage protocols to prioritize patient acuity and allocate resources efficiently
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and ancillary staff to coordinate patient care
- Document clinical findings accurately in electronic health records (EPIC)
- Provide clear communication to patients and families regarding wait times and care plans
- Maintain compliance with JCAHO, NYSDOH, and hospital policies
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Current NYS RN license with minimum 3 years ED experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- BSN or higher degree preferred
- Experience with Epic EHR systems
- Strong assessment skills with ability to make critical decisions
- Exceptional communication and de-escalation abilities
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-stress environment
- Spanish fluency a plus
