Your Role as a Home Health Aide
You will be the face of care for our clients, providing personalized assistance to improve their quality of life. This role is more than a job; it's an opportunity to build lasting relationships with those you serve.
Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, and oral hygiene.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and report any changes in health status to the supervising nurse.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals based on dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment for the client.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support, engage in conversation, and accompany clients to medical appointments or social outings.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record blood pressure, pulse, and temperature as directed.
- Documentation: Accurately complete daily care logs and progress notes in our electronic health records system.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid Hawaii State Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in home care, hospice, or a hospital setting preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License: Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
- CPR & First Aid: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and families.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Compassion: A genuine, patient-centered approach to patient care.
