Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene to maintain personal hygiene and comfort.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications on schedule and report any missed doses or side effects to the RN supervisor.
- Nutritional Support: Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding if necessary, adhering to specific dietary restrictions.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage clients in conversation and social activities to reduce feelings of isolation.
- Light Housekeeping: Perform light cleaning duties, laundry, and errands essential to the client's well-being.
- Transportation: Drive clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, or social events as required.
- Vital Monitoring: Monitor and document client progress, reporting any changes in health, mood, or behavior to the case manager immediately.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Louisiana Home Health Aide (HHA) certification required.
- Driver's License: Valid state driver's license and reliable transportation are mandatory.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- CPR/BLS: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is a strong plus.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods; ability to assist with lifting clients (up to 50 lbs).
