Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary draws efficiently and with minimal patient discomfort.
- Verify patient identities and accurately complete required documentation and labeling.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards.
- Assist with patient intake, vitals, and preparing specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Calmly communicate with patients to alleviate anxiety during procedures.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure seamless patient care.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Strong attention to detail and dexterity in handling needles and equipment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lift and maneuver patients up to 50 pounds.
