Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections using provided equipment
- Ensure proper specimen handling, labeling, and processing
- Maintain sterile techniques and infection control protocols
- Verify patient identity and prepare specimens for laboratory testing
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Provide patient education and comfort during procedures
- Calibrate and maintain provided phlebotomy equipment
Qualifications
- Current Missouri Phlebotomy Technician certification
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Attention to detail and accuracy in specimen handling
