Responsibilities
- Compound and dispense medications with 99.9% accuracy under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control systems including automated dispensing cabinets
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians on sterile compounding protocols
- Process third-party insurance claims and verify patient eligibility
- Implement HIPAA-compliant documentation and electronic health records
- Collaborate with clinical team on medication therapy management programs
- Maintain USP 797 compliant cleanroom environments
Qualifications
- Active Tennessee Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 3 years hospital or specialty pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding and IV admixture
- CPR certification and basic life support training
- Exceptional attention to detail and crisis management skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25 lbs regularly
