Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Perform routine vital sign assessments, patient intake, and obtain medical histories accurately.
- Clinical Support: Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Administrative Duties: Manage electronic health records (EHR), schedule appointments, and handle insurance verification.
- Lab Procedures: Collect and process blood samples, urinalysis, and other laboratory specimens according to strict protocols.
- Facility Maintenance: Prepare examination rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain a clean, sanitary environment.
- Communication: Clearly communicate test results and follow-up instructions to patients and families.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Skills: Proficiency in electronic medical records software and strong computer literacy.
- Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
