Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures including injections, wound care, and EKGs
- Perform laboratory tests and process specimens using CLIA-waived equipment
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems ensuring accurate documentation
- Administer medications under provider supervision and monitor patient responses
- Schedule follow-up appointments and provide patient education materials
- Maintain sterile exam environments and inventory of medical supplies
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory care setting
- BLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or NextGen preferred)
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and OSHA regulations
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to calm anxious patients
- High school diploma or equivalent with completion of accredited MA program
