As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our clinical facilities. Responsibilities
- Greet and Register Patients: Create a welcoming environment by checking patients in, verifying insurance information, and collecting necessary demographic data accurately.
- Vital Signs and Measurements: Perform routine health screenings including blood pressure, temperature, weight, and height measurements to monitor patient health status.
- Clinical Assistance: Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations, ensuring patient comfort and collecting specimens as directed.
- Charting and Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date Electronic Health Records (EHR) in compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital standards.
- Laboratory Support: Prepare lab samples for testing, perform basic point-of-care testing, and adhere to strict safety protocols for handling biohazards.
- Administrative Support: Answer telephones, schedule appointments, and coordinate patient follow-up care to ensure seamless communication.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of a Medical Assistant program is a plus but not mandatory for entry-level candidates.
- Certification: Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Medical Assistant certification program (CMA, RMA, or MA preferred).
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities with a patient-centric approach.
- Technical Proficiency: Basic computer literacy and comfort learning new electronic health record software.
- Professionalism: Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professional behavior in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks such as phlebotomy or EKGs.
