Responsibilities
- Patient Care Coordination: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with patient examinations, accurately recording vital signs and medical histories.
- Administrative Excellence: Manage patient intake, update Electronic Health Records (EHR), verify insurance details, and schedule appointments efficiently.
- Diagnostic Support: Perform basic laboratory tests, specimen collection, and assist with minor procedures under strict supervision.
- Communication Hub: Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, answering inquiries and providing clear, compassionate health education.
- Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and hospital safety protocols to ensure a secure environment for everyone.
- Operational Support: Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and medical equipment to support seamless operations.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is required; completion of a Medical Assistant certificate program is preferred but not mandatory for entry-level candidates.
- Certification: Current certification as a CMA, RMA, or NCMA is a plus; we provide training for qualified applicants.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to show empathy and patience.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Availability: Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
