Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Perform patient intakes, including obtaining vital signs and recording medical histories accurately.
- Clinical Support: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures.
- Administrative Duties: Manage appointment scheduling, patient check-ins, and prepare necessary medical paperwork.
- Record Management: Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR) and ensure all documentation is HIPAA compliant.
- Specimen Collection: Perform phlebotomy and prepare samples for laboratory analysis.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on medications, post-procedure care, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Facility Maintenance: Keep exam rooms organized, sanitized, and stocked with medical supplies.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA, RMA, or MA certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Skills: Proficiency in computer systems and electronic health records (EHR) software.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Compliance: Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical office protocols.
