Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients, verify demographic and insurance information, and update patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Clinical Support: Prepare examination rooms, assist physicians and nurse practitioners during patient visits, and take accurate vital signs.
- Procedural Assistance: Perform basic laboratory tests, EKGs, and assist with minor office procedures as directed.
- Medication Management: Verify patient allergies, prepare medications for administration, and document medication refills accurately.
- Patient Education: Provide clear instructions on post-procedure care, medications, and preventative health measures.
- Front Desk Operations: Manage appointment scheduling, answer phone inquiries, and process co-pays and payments.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to all health and safety protocols to maintain a sterile environment.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification is required.
- Licensure: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent vocational training.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in navigating Electronic Health Records (EHR) software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
