Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during patient examinations and procedures.
- Record patient medical histories, demographics, and vital signs accurately.
- Prepare patients for examinations and ensure patient comfort and privacy.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, administer medications, and draw blood samples (phlebotomy).
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) and maintain accurate medical documentation.
- Sanitize and sterilize medical instruments and equipment according to safety protocols.
- Answer incoming patient calls and triage medical inquiries professionally.
Qualifications
- Certificate or diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Current RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) or CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) certification.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- 1+ years of experience in a clinical or medical office setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Proficiency with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-first attitude.
