Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations by assisting with history taking and recording vital signs.
- Perform clinical duties including venipuncture, EKG administration, and medication administration.
- Assist physicians during examinations and minor medical procedures.
- Maintain accurate and confidential electronic health records (EHR).
- Greet patients warmly and ensure the reception area is organized and welcoming.
- Order and prepare laboratory specimens for testing.
- Provide patient education on preventative care and medication instructions.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
