As a Night Shift Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our patients receive the highest standard of care while the facility operates at a calm, focused pace. Responsibilities
- Conduct Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and update medical records accurately using our EMR system.
- Vital Signs & Assessments: Measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature) and perform basic health screenings.
- Assist Providers: Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and assist physicians and nurse practitioners during procedures.
- Phlebotomy & Lab Work: Draw blood samples, process specimens, and coordinate with the laboratory for timely results.
- Medication Management: Administer medications as directed by providers and document all treatments and patient responses.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and the wider healthcare team regarding care plans and instructions.
- Infection Control: Strictly adhere to all hygiene protocols and safety regulations to maintain a sterile environment.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant), or NCMA certification is required.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certifications (if applicable to the department).
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a primary care or urgent care environment.
- Shift Availability: Must be willing and able to work night shifts (e.g., 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM or 4:00 PM - 12:30 AM).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) software and medical billing terminology.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
