Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures including injections, wound care, and EKGs
- Prepare patients for examinations and accurately document medical histories
- Perform vital signs, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) with precision and HIPAA compliance
- Administer medications under physician supervision and monitor patient responses
- Coordinate patient flow between departments and ensure seamless transitions
- Maintain sterile exam environments and inventory of medical supplies
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in hospital or urgent care setting
- BLS/CPR certification and Pennsylvania state credentials
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar)
- Strong phlebotomy and venipuncture skills
- Exceptional communication and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts with minimal supervision
