Job Summary
The Medical Assistant will perform a variety of clinical and administrative duties to ensure the smooth operation of our medical facility. You will play a crucial role in patient care, assisting providers with examinations, managing patient records, and ensuring a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine vital sign measurements and patient health assessments.
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during patient examinations and minor procedures.
- Prepare and manage patient medical records and electronic health records (EHR).
- Perform phlebotomy (blood draw) and EKG procedures accurately.
- Handle front desk operations including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and patient intake.
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA compliance, sterilization protocols, and infection control standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding follow-up care and prescriptions.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a medical office or clinic setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth).
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with varying shifts.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
