Responsibilities
- Review and code medical services using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes
- Submit electronic claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Follow up on claim denials and rejections to resolve billing discrepancies
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits coverage
- Maintain accurate patient billing records in EHR systems
- Communicate professionally with patients regarding billing inquiries
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree preferred
- 1+ years of medical billing/coding experience
- Certification (CPC, CCS, or similar) required
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
