Responsibilities
- Accurately process medical claims and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits before service rendering
- Denial management and appeals processing for rejected claims
- Code diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10 and CPT systems
- Reconcile accounts receivable reports and identify discrepancies
- Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve billing inquiries
- Maintain accurate patient records in EHR systems
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Expert knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Strong understanding of insurance claim processes
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
- Associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field
