Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10 and CPT standards
- Submit clean claims to insurance companies and government payers (Medicare/Medicaid)
- Manage patient accounts, including billing statements and payment processing
- Conduct insurance eligibility verification and resolve claim denials
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain strict confidentiality of patient data
- Collaborate with clinical staff to clarify documentation discrepancies
- Generate monthly reports for revenue cycle performance analysis
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth)
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes and reimbursement methodologies
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication abilities for patient and payer interactions
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field
