Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits pre-service
- Resolve claim denials and rejections through appeals and corrections
- Perform accurate coding using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS guidelines
- Conduct regular account receivable follow-ups and aging analysis
- Maintain HIPAA compliance in all patient data handling
- Collaborate with clinical teams for documentation clarification
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a clinic/hospital setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credential preferred
- Expertise in claim scrubbers and clearinghouse systems (e.g., Change Healthcare)
- Strong knowledge of payer policies (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial)
- Proficient in EHR systems (Epic or Cerner experience a plus)
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to meet daily productivity metrics with 98%+ accuracy
