Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits before service rendering
- Resolve claim denials through appeals and follow-up procedures
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations
- Conduct account receivables analysis and collections efforts
- Collaborate with clinical teams to document accurate coding
- Utilize EHR/EMR systems for billing operations
- Generate monthly financial reports for leadership review
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in physician or hospital setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expertise in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proficiency with billing software (e.g., Epic, Athena, Medisoft)
- Strong knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid/Commercial payer policies
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage high-volume claim processing deadlines
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred
